The Kuanggu Story: From Temple Incense to China’s Incense Capital

Christina Lim, founder of Kuanggu Incense, borned and grew up in Quanzhou—a UNESCO World Heritage city known as “half firework, half fairyland.” As a child, she accompanied her elders through ancient temples, where the scent of incense left a lasting imprint on her heart.

After traveling halfway around the world, she returned to Quanzhou and began visiting those temples once more. In the sound of morning bells and evening drums, amidst curling incense smoke, she found herself drawn deeper into contemplation. What seemed like a fleeting impulse was in fact a long-held calling. She set her life‘s direction on exploring incense culture—studying its history and theory, examining the growth and properties of aromatic herbs, appreciating incense tools and vessels, and uncovering the stories behind blended fragrances.

In 2021, this personal journey evolved into Kuanggu Incense. Christina no longer walks this path alone—she now invites brands around the world to join her, transforming China’s incense heritage into a modern commercial language. So that the fragrance of the East becomes a scent memory for the world.
